Can some one suggest a method for filtering out the typical noise of a VHS video source?
Do the major players (FCP, AP, AAE) have this ability? Canned effect?
Thanks for your replies.

Well, there is a VHS filter option in the Ignition Control Panel. Did you try that?

Exactly where is this option located? I am currently using the new 5.0 OSX driver.
I looked through the Ignition preferences and read the (now old) manual but still cannot find it.
Thanks for the reply.

Alex,
Ingnition Pane:
Advanced Settings
There is a checkbox that says composite filter enabled.
I am assuming you would digitize regularly and enable this when you output the timeline. Sometimes apllying a 1 pixle blur to the VHS shots and use the 3 way cc to reduce a bit of the chroma noise.
