I'm working on an animation of a robot arm (Actually, the very robot arm used in "Inside Lightwave 7" in chapter 13). Im trying to get it to stand still, but in the final product when the arm is supposed to be still, it moves very slightly then it moves back. Can someone please help me?

Delete all keyframes except the one at zero. Then turn off "auto key create" to keep from making any new ones inadvertently.

It still moves around by itself when it is supposed to be still. I think that the path type is non-linear, so when it stops it curves. How do I change the path type?

The point is to have NO path. A path implies movement, yes? If your scene contains only the one keyframe at T=0, there will be no movement.

However, you're correct. If you DO have more than one keyframe, how you set the Tension, Continuity, and Bias (TCB) of each keyframe will affect the behavior of the object. You can make it slow down as it approaches the keyframe, or accelerate as it departs the keyframe, or have a completely steady speed between keyframes. TCB values can each be set to -1, 0, or +1. Experiment to see what different settings do to the movement of your object.
