[Brian] "I'm new to Livetype and wondering if there is an "easy" way to use a different font for the blueprint LiveFont? Does Fontmaker allow you to just edit the original script and replace the default font? "
No and no. In brief, each LiveFont is made from 107 to 137 individual, high resolution QT movies (one for each glyph). The change a font you need to make each movie again. Fontmaker simply compiles the movies into a LiveFont. You'll find more information if you search through this forum's archives and look in the Appendix in the LiveType Help/manual.
There are a couple of 3rd party LiveFont providers: Screen Caffeine, LiveTypeCentral, Optimistik, and if I've forgotten anyone forgive me :)
