 | installing filmGimp error - "C compiler cannot create executables" [!!]
by ben g unguren on Mar 13, 2003 at 4:28:26 pm |
Howdy,
I am not a whiz at this stuff, but I've looked around and gottn this far, but now I'm stuck...
Running 10.2.3, developer tools are installed, installed fink (activated fink), installed X11, ready to install whatever else I'm supposed to install, but not sure... When I run film gimp, it prompts me for my admin pswd, which I give, then it runs
sudo fink -y install filmgimp
in a terminal window.
Things run smooth for a while, it seems, then comes the error:
checking for style of include used by make... GNU
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... cc
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 77
Failed: compiling audiofile-0.2.3-4 failed
I chmod 777'ed my cc file in usr/bin (which might not have been too smart, but didn't change anything), also chmod 777'ed the /tmp directory, (but I think it was fully accessible anyway), to no avail.
Any ideas? Even crazy ones?
thanks in advance for forgiving my ignorance,
ben unguren
