Recently my G4 (Mirror Door 1 Ghz) has been behaving very strangely at boot up. Evereything goes as it should until the Drives are to mount and the Finder Menu bar about to appear. It then goes to blue screen (Before the desktop picture. The mouse works ie moves and if I leave it the dock appearswith the desktop picture then disappears and blue screen again. It does this perhaps 6 times or more before it finally gets to mounting the drives. Then all seems to operate OK. I get no error message, nothing. Any one with any ideas?

What have I done recently?
-Upgraded from 10.2.2 to 10.2.3 (I think that's the number. I not on my computer now top check)
-Have been booting as OS9 as some programs don't work in Classic
-Have installed another PCI card, the Media Press Pro

Any help appreciated
Thanks

I've noticed that many problems on MacOS X are often related to incorrect permissions on files and corrupted preference files.

Please try the following:
- Use Disk Utility to repair file permissions.
- create a new user and try to log in as this new user (to determine if it is some corrupt preferences file).
- Try to start in save mode (press shift during boot).
