Excuse me if this is a stupid question. Can you make a single line/ribbon or whatever u want to call it using Particular. I know you can do this using 3d stroke but not the other. If you can make this why use Particular and not 3d stroke ? Thanks for any feedback.

im actually interested in doing this as well. Ive been experimenting with a ribbon effect with particular, but my line is coming out uneven. I created a box emitter with size of 1x1x50. Then i use small sphere particles emitting with 0 velocity. In theory, this idea works, but it seems like you have to crank up the particles to well over a thousand to get something to look like a ribbon, and even then, it looks chunky. Any help?

to get a true ribbion look you will have to go 3d standalone route

i have faked it in the past with 3d stroke use the size of the stroke to like 2
set the pepeter for 10
z ofset to about 4
turn off systmmtic

might have to mokey with them to get the results your after
