Quick and hopefully easy question. Will a microphone designed for the Sony "intelligent accessory shoe" work on a Canon with an "advanced accessory shoe" (optura pi)? I have no idea what the compatibility is like with these accessory shoes.

Not sure, never tried it. Probably not. Get the Canon DM-50 which will work fine.

The Optura PI is still a sweet handycam, isn't it? :-)
