I have a IBM Intellistation Mpro (6868) that I am trying to move to a new case. The only thing I am still searching for is a pin out of the front panel connector, or actually, a small cable that would break the connector out to standard connections.

I've searched the PDF files I've found on the IBM support site, but nothing is mentioned.

Any suggestions on where to look next? Or is there a way to find out what each cable does?

Thanks!

Kevin

What is the connection for? Audio...is it a 1/8" female mini plug in?

It is a strange connector, seven wires that control the power button, leds (hard drive, disck, etc).

The cable runs to a mini circuit board on the front where the button/leds are. I can cut the cable to make new connections to a block to plug the new case connectors in.

Without a wiring diagram, you cant possibly connect these wires to the new motherboard. I would get a new case.

I have a new case, the wires are labeled on the new case.

The IBM intellistation has the original mother board, which I want to move to the new case. The motherboard has the strange connector that leads to the mini circuit board on the original intellistation case for the power button. WHat I am looking for is the wiring diagram for the intellistation motherboard so that I can modify the wiring harness to work with the new case.

My bad...The motherboard might have enough clues printed on it that you can plug the individual leads from the case into it. Take a look with a strong light and magnifying glass. Most ATX boards have the connectors at the bottom/right.

Instead of trying to figure out the motherboard, how about working in reverse? Maybe ohm out the connector pins to the components on the front panel of your Intellistation. Use a needle to probe each pin on the connector and find where each one goes. Should be fairly straight forward.
