Im not 100% sure it supports 3.06G,i do build lots of systems for people but at this time no one is willing to spend the extra money -vs- a 2.8G P4,my advice to you would be wait 2-3months till the price goes down a bit on the 3.06G($650)belive it or not but its only about $150 more to build a dual XEON P4(2.4G $250 MOBO $250)right now then it is to get a single 3.06,i must tell you though that a single P4 at 2.4G-2.8G will be all you ever need to fly using STORM2 use the extra money saved to get more harddrive space and a GFORCE4 TI card, the 3.06 is top of the line and lord knows im dieing to get one but the storm card is so strong and you will get so much in real time that the extra money spent is just a waste of money my friend at this time..
As far as you sound card lots of people are having problems with Audigy2 not to sure if the EX has some of the same problems, when i built my first storm SOUND BLASTER LIVE PLAT..was the card at the time and i thought i needed the best sound card out to get good audio but the truth is you dont even need a sound card on your computer the storm card has its own audio out to you spekers, the live drive is very nice to have if your going from you mixer back to you computer to watch you audio levels the front inputs make it easy, but you could still use a simple sound card and loop your audio back into you computer....
Hope this helps some,I would go with a 2.53 P4,A sound blaster live 5.1 PCI only (if you can get a LIVE drive cool)and use that $600 you just saved for H.D,extra memory, and GF4 TI,or go the DUAL P4 WAY..GOOD LUCK

Hi Nelson,
Went to the specs on the board it says it supports 3.06. As far as HD space I already have
C: 180 Gig
D: 180 Gig
E: 200 Gig Rem Drive
F: 200 Gig Rem Drive
I have the TI4600 Asylum card. I have the Audigy 1 EX already and I checked with Guy Graphics they told me it works fine with Storm 2. I'm just going piece by piece with this system. I'm saving up money to build best I can. I might just get one of the new boards coming out and buy each piece one at a time til I'm done. I kind of like to be set for several years not feeling I need to upgrade.

Well if you have ashly giving you advice then your in good hands, but my option still stands anything over a 2.53G at this time is a waste of money because you will be able to do what ever you want in real time with it,i have 2(1 2.0G) and i can do about 25 filters without rendering, not that i use them a better exsample is i can have about 5 filters with a 3sec pagepeel going into a clip with 5 filters in R.T and i dont think you will be doing more then that and even if you do it would take about 10secs to render that pagepeel,i still render all my effects no matter what to be safe,
In no way am i trying to talk you out of what you want to do,but why spend an extra $400-500 for something you can already do with a 2.53G,If thats the case go Dual xeon it will show up as 4CPU`s in task manager and cost about the same $$$$$$ and will render 3ed party software much much faster BORIS,Hollywood FX,After effects,ETC.....Any you will never fell like you have to upgrade
Glad to hear EX works with DVS2,Gezzz you got tons of H.D Space what are you doing EDiting movies!?!? Peace
