I just got a couple dual layer burners and - before burning any big ones - wondering how they are working out for DVD-Video. somewhere I read they're around 50% compatible. I use Encore which now surpports the 8.5 GB disks but who can play them?

If your burner can change the book type from "DVD+R DL" to "DVD-ROM" most set top DVD players which are compatible with writable DVDs will be able to play those dual layer DVDs.
