Just getting into DVD and am looking for the minimal equipment investment to do small jobs on my own.
My shows are typically under five minutes. If I keep the number of in-house DVD's to 50 or fewer, does my PC's built-in Sony DVD burner (DRU-530A) have the capacity and reliability for the job? I'd love to print directly on the DVD surface too -- any rec's for that? I have more time than money, but the tight deadlines make farming this out a problem.

Sure- DVD burners can go forever. As for the printing- get an Epson R300 or R200. They print directly on DVD-R printable media and they work like a charm.

I do rather small jobs - (seldom over 100 discs per client) but I found the labor involved a bit too much when it came to burning and then printing the discs themselves. I finally invested in the Bravo duplicator with printer - I let you know how that works when I use it, but my HP 200 E writer as been going strong for nearly two years and thousands of discs later, so I would agree with Noah that you SOny will hold up fine.

We have had a Bravo for a little more than a year now--it is worth it's weight in gold. Easy to use and the company has GREAT tech support. Worth the investment.
