 | Exporting to Mpeg 2? Running FCP 3 and DVDSP 1.2
by jaru2 on Nov 25, 2002 at 9:52:50 pm |
I have a G4 runing FCP 3.0.2 and DVDSP 1.2 I am trying to export a movie from FCP for DVDSP. In my export options I do not see a MPEG2 option only MPEG 4? What should I choose? Is there another option...video compnent..motion jpeg...or??? That may render good results? Or is there something missing and I should have a mpeg2 export option? So basically how do I get my FCP video into DVD SP?

Make sure you have installed the version of QuickTime included on your DVDSP install disc and unlock it according to the registration guide.

Oh OK, thanks. I did not install the QT beacause it was a later version than what I had on my CPU. I have QT 6 pro now installed is that going to mess anything up? I will look into it thanks!

Actually Noah, this does lead me to the question. how should I go about this. I have QT 6 pro installed. But it is version QT pro4.1 that came with my DVD SP disk. When I go to install the QT from the DVDSP disk, it obviously says a newer version is present. So do yo uhave a suggestion on how to do this? Should I unistall QT 6 and re-install QT4 and then go back up to QT 6? I am running OS X, but DVD SP 1.2 only runs in the OS 9 start up. Thoughts?

DVD Studio Pro 1.2 does not operate in Classic mode in Mac OS X.
If you run OS X, you'll need DVD Studio Pro 1.5
DVD Studio Pro 1.5 comes with the appropriate QuickTime component to encode MPEG2.
