I am receiving an "unkown file type" error message when I attempt to import a .m2v file into DVD SP. I used QT to encode, as always. It is the first time using OSX 10.2 & QT 6 PRO w/ DVD SP. If I import a .m2v file from an older, OSX 2.1/QTPro 5 project, I have no problems. Any suggestions? Thanks.

try downloading the latest update of DVDSP 1.5 from Apple.

Interesting- where did the original file come from? A DV clip?

The original file was a sequence of picts in Final Cut Pro. Also tried a straight DV clip from an older project & got the same error message. No idea what's up, only that I did not have this probelm with DVDSP prior to upgrading to Jaguar. Whether that has anything to do with this I dont know??? Thanks again.

Apparently the latest version of Quicktime breaks DVDSP... There will hopefully be an update from apple in the next few days.

I am using QT 6.01, and still having the problem.

You should try restarting in OS 9 and see if the clip presents the same issue.

Noah, belive it or not I found the answer on Apple's DVDSP support site. It seems that DVDSP sometimes has trouble importing from a Firewire drive, I moved the .m2v file to an internal HD, and everything worked fine. Thanks for your help.

Hmm interesting- I don't have that problem in 1.2. You would think Apple would make every effort to support Firewire as it is the cornerstone of FCP.
