i just heard from a mate that maya is about to or has 'massively' cut their prices.. i cant get through to their site yet, but this could prove interesting... :)

They lowered their price for Maya Complete from around $8000 to around $2000 about 3 weeks ago.



They also downsized their R&D team, closed their California facility, and have consolidated their team in Canada. The code is getting creaky, and I think all of these are bad signs (it can't help that Alias is owned by SGI, which is struggling to survive at all in the hardware world)



Personally I think that the situation with Maya is precarious.
