 | Zaxerks locking up AE - PF worlds

Any input on this would be great. THANKS!
Setup: I created my Invigorator layer (no layer mapping, Open GL rendering, one illustrator file imported), turned the layer to Best quality, purged all from the edit drop down, set the start frame to 0, closed the comp window to save ram and set it to render. Result...Lockup with 3 error messages.
Error message 1: PF_worlds can only be 64 or 32 bits per pixel.( I have 8 bit pixel depth turned on in the preferences. I tried 16 also and it lockup again.)
Error message 2: Not enough memory to create scratch buffer. 135170K needed, 121817 K available.
Error message 3: AE error - checking world - internal structure damage.
I'm using a OS9.2 on a G4 with 768 MB / 400 Mhz . Memory shouldn't be an issue as I understand it. I have 280 MB allocated to AE.
HELP! I feel the tears forming...
