I am very disapointed with media 100.
I have had a month of down time. They had
me buy a new computer (3rd one) ram etc...
Finally the tell me it is a bug. Why then did they
make me buy all the equipment.

The fix is to trash your m100 prefrences and finder prefrencess

Next make a copy of the new preferencess and put it in a safe place

When you get the next error immediately quit
throw away prefrencess and replace them with the back up
Make another copt of the prefrences and repeat process when needed
(the prefrences become corrupted)

ps. Make sure that your new extensions are mac os base with m100 prefs turned on

I still suggest you call

THIS IS M100s fault and they should help you for free

Oh yea In the down time I have been using Final Cut Pro with great results on my g4 laptop

I would never spend the money on media 100 again

Good Luck

Devin, I would STRONGLY recommend that you use CURRENT software... that means the latest revs of the Media 100 software off their site, then be absolutly certain you are using the proper OS that they recommend, THEN, make sure that you have updated all your FIRMWARE for your SCSI cards and monitor cards.

I had the lock up after digitize issue and it turned out to be MY FAULT. When I up graded to 7.0 and subsequently 7.0.2 I had read that I should update the firmware on my SCSI card and had downloaded the firmware update but I had failed to actually run the update... when I called Platinum they walked me thru all the software that I was running and we discovered that the firmware on my Adaptec card was very stale.

AFter that update my system is ROCK SOLID. It's been on for days, edit and AE, all day Render all night, REPEAT

If you are still having problems your system just aint right.

First rule of upgrades... EVERYTHING EFFECTS EVERYTHING.

Like those games that people install, or possibly a palm pilot cradle, maybe a screen saver or a piece of Freeware or Shareware.

When FCP can do all that my Media100 does in Real Time I'll be interested. but it just can't so I'm sticking with my Media100.

what version do you use? i have 7.02/G4 and never had that happen if i hit stop.

now i had a G3, blue..that worked fine unless i hit stop while digitizing...it would operate very slow..putting the clip in the bin. I would get a few clicks...used to save the bin!! then it would lock up. I spent months tying to work that out..no help that actually helped from media 100. As it worked out that G3 went somewhere else and i got the G4..so i never did figure it out.
