Meida 100 and Compressor

Hi,

I am new to using compressor with Media 100. I have exported a reference file from the Media 100. Imported it into compressor, applied a mpeg2 high quality 60 minute mpeg 2 encode preset. I get nothing... I can encode an aiff file from this reference file but no mpeg.

Anybody know what it is?

i lost track on OSX, but still know something:
There is a bug in certain M100 versions with ref files.
Open them in qt and save (as ref) to make them work again.

Unless compressor has improved and has advanced corrections, forget it.

M100 files are 16 - 235 while compressor expects 0 - 255 (rgb color levels)
So your image will SUCK unless you can compensate for that.

If you have a PC laying around, get Pegasys TMPGenc and do your encoding there.
Dirt cheap, good and fast.

I think the best MPEG2 compressor for material coming out of M100 is BitVice. The lite version available on their website is excellent and they also offer a Pro version with more bells and whistles. Neither version is free but even the Lite version provides excellent compressions to MPEG2. The company name is Innobits and they provide versions for different processors and OS versions. HTH
