 | Audio: relink media question
by Tanis on Feb 24, 2003 at 9:19:34 pm |
I have a program with all of the media offline. I have rediged the video media and that is happy. When the program was made I named the audio clips from the cd's they came off of: CD 12 Track 15.AIFF for example. I never backed the media up because I just needed to redig. Unfortunately I cannot get the audio tracks to relink to newly imported, identical audio tracks. They are the same tracks with the same names. Is there a trick to relinking these? cna it be done? Help?

You can“t relonk the audio-tracks. But if you have imported them from CD you can simply replace the existing tracks. You should set the replace to only overwrite audio, not volume or panorama. Double-click on your files on the timeline and copy the in-timecode, and paste it into your freshly-imported audio-files. Then drag the audio-file on the one you want to replace and hold the command-key.

Floh,
[Floh] "You should set the replace to only overwrite audio, not volume or panorama"
Where do you access this setting, and does it mean that level changes and EQ settings are retained after repalcement? That would be neat!
Thanks,
John

When you drag the new audio-track on the one on your timeline press and hold "Command-CTRL". Then the Replace options will be displayed. If you deselect anything except Audio Media you will keep the volume and prnorama settings
