 | Dubbing Time Code to PD-150
by Phil Mastman on Feb 26, 2005 at 2:47:09 am |
I'm trying to dub footage from a Digital Betacam deck to my PD-150, via a Miranda DVBridge+. The DVBridge is seeing the timecode from the D-beta fine, but the PD-150 ignores the code. I have the TC set to "regen" in the PD-150. Is there any way I can get the PD-150 to recognize the code that is coming into it via firewire from the DVBridge? (It works great going the other way, from the PD-150 to the d-beta).
Thanks,

[Phil Mastman] "Is there any way I can get the PD-150 to recognize the code that is coming into it via firewire from the DVBridge?"
Nope.
The camcorder is not designed to accept external timecode.
That is a specialized function.
A few digital recording decks can do this via FW, but not many (if any) DV camcorders.
In most cases, if you want to utilize external TC, a separate jack is provided for that specific function and the TC is sent and input as an analog signal (that is converted from/to digital by the gear).

Thanks for the reply, Matte. Not the answer I was hoping for, but I appreciate it nonetheless.
