Hi all,

I have been involved in the making of a short film over the past half year called "The Glove" (about a gaming glove controller that turns possessed) Well, the time has finally come to release the trailer to show it off before the release of the film! Head on over to either site below to download the trailer in any of your favorite formats (QuickTime, real, windows media, divx, or mpeg) and please let me know how you like it!

Just some facts about the film:

- Under 13mins run time.
- Cast of 4, crew of a dozen (or so)
- Shot with 2 XL1s, and a GL2.
- Over 35 FX shots (which I have been in charge of)

Feedback on the trailer is welcome!

Everything seemed to flow really well and I enjoyed it up into you do the effects for "the Glove" text at the end. The jerkyness of the light flare didn't seem right. I would make it either faster or smoother.

That being said, this is better than anything I've put together, and it looked pretty good.

Hahaha! Great opening titles, great humor, great use of "Carmen Burena"(sp?).

One comment: Are you guys going for the "stylized B-movie" look, or full-on camp? It felt like if you want the former, do some more shot-to-shot color-correction -- the production value goes waay up. If you're going-for camp, your effects & the footage are a bit too polished (drop the saturation, add grain & maybe some 'film-damage'). Basically, I got a little "genre-confused" when watching... which distracted me from your story. [just a comment, not a criticism]

the concept is cool & the blonde guy is well-cast. I'd like to see it! Congrats.

Hi Dave,

Yes, the "stylized B-movie" look is what we went for..the feel is campy (but not full-on camp). As for CC, when I edited the trailer a few of the scenes that needed CC didn't have them yet, but that is something that I've already been doing. :)

Thanks again for your comments...if you want to see some behind-the-scenes FX shots, head on over to my personal site at http://www.nantofx.com.

Thanks Joe for the response!

On the subject of "The Glove" text at the end, that is one thing that I also wasn't 100% satisfied with (but the trailer had to get out so I couldn't keep tweaking it) but I'm glad you liked it.

I love the titles....did you use Boris RED...I am a RED newbie and it seems like I would use RED to do them....I love the sideways flip and fly through the letters...very nice stuff...

I definitely love the red light behind the glove word glowing and moving...any hints on that one....i think i could figure it out by studying it, but would love a jump start hint.

Hi Martin,

Glad you liked the titles! I actually used 3DSMAX R4 for all of the titles (except for "The Glove" title).

As for the Glove title, David is right :) I used Shine within Combustion 2 for the light pass.

I'm based in Seattle, WA BTW.
