editing from remote location

Hey all,

I want to find a program that I can use on my laptop from anywhere to connect to my home computer through the internet so I can edit from anywhere in the world.

This will allow me to work on all my systems from anywhere I can get an internet connection... I can start new renders, capture tapes, etc...

Any programs out there?

Windows XP has a Remote computer function - I've never heard of it being used this way, but why not?

One thing would be to make sure that external HDs were connecertd and powered up.

I doubt this would work very well---too much lag time for a power dependent process. PCAnywhere is another product that people use.

I think this ability to connect to my home computer system from any location in the world would be a huge help.

I could start new renders once current renders finish. I could prepare dvds... None of this would produce much lag time.

I don't do this for editing video - but I do use remote PC control while I am travelling - I use the Remote Desktop software built in to Windows XP and I also use Remote Administrator 2
