Missing AAC audio compression: second try

Since I received zero responses to my earlier post, I'll try approaching this problem from another angle. Is there anyone out there that has the latest Vegas and the latest Quicktime (the free player with the authoring options installed, not Quicktime Pro), who sees AAC as an option under audio compression when rendering out to a Quicktime using the MPEG4 option for video compression? I just want to see if it's maybe just my system that's having a problem or if this is some general development. When I first got Vegas, AAC was there as an option; now it's not.

I don't see that option, and I have Quicktime Pro. I think AAC might be the generalized name for Quicktime Audio compression (or possibly Apple Audio Compression). I see a lot of options that look as if they would determine style of compression (bit order, etc.). I could be completely wrong, but this is my best guess.
