Distrotion in render movie
by grig on Feb 19, 2004 at 9:57:33 am

My PI3 can not make a quality movie. There are some linear distortions appear in the final avi. It's undepends on codecs of source and producible movie.
There is not artefacts if I composing PI effects with statics images.
Can you help? Where is the problem?

What output size are you creating? (640x480, 720x486, etc.)

If you are doing a strange size, many AVI codecs do not like widths that are not even multiples of 4. That may be the problem.

Other than that, I'm not sure why AVI would be different, especially since you said that changing the codec does not matter.

Output video size - it's another interesting question. I use the source video in MJPEG (i have miroDC10+), it's in PAL 720x540, and after rendering, final AVI looks like it was zoomed a little during the coding, and the image is not full (losed side districts). To prevent this i should setup 77% of zoom before renfering.

The stage window shows exactly what the output will be, so you need to do 2 things before saving your AVI:

1) make sure the stage zoom is set to 100%

2) make sure the stage window is large enough to fit your entire stage at 100% zoom. A quick way to do this is to hit Alt+3.
