no sound

Greetings. I have a 16-bit WAV file (44.1 kHz) loaded into a track and it plays fine
when I click the Play Sound button. I also have the Play Sound During Animation button enabled. But when I start playback, the sound does not play. Are there any bugs in Win/C4 9 or other issues to address regarding sound?
