I have heard rumor that the latest upgrade 8.503 causes some problems on Mac OS X re: the video card.

Ever since I upgraded from 8.2 a few days ago I have been getting major Kernal crashes on my Powerbook G4. However, it seems to happen even when I'm not running C4D so I don't know if there is a relationship.

Just trying to narrow the field in finding the problem.

Does anyone have any links or reference regarding this issue? Thanks

TAK

Hi,
yes, that's a rumor and nothing more. 8.503 has no problems i ever heard of regarding stability and video cards on Mac. On the other hand i was made aware of a small number of problems regarding 10.4 and video cards. It seems Apple made a lot of changes in that release, some of them sometimes seem to compromise stability. Myself i never had a problem in this regard, but i'm not a heavy mac user either.

Cheers
Björn

I'm a heavy Mac user in ver. 8.503 and in OSX ver. 10.3.4 on a Dual G5 with an ATI video card, no problems.
