Permanent Poly Reduced Objects

Once I've used the poly reduction tool, is it possible to save the object in that state, so that the reuction tool isn't constantly calculating the objet and copies of same?

If so, how?

hey mark - in v7 it's functions>current state to object. I generally run untriangulate straight after, cos it does make a bit of a mess!
