I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a hold of a copy of this made for TV movie"Walk with the Dinosaurs". I have just bought a japanese vcd of "Big Al", which was made by the same people, and its amazing. I just haven't seen the original. Boy I love those Dino's........Does anyone know what program they use for these films?

If it's the same 'Walking with Dinosaurs' I'm thinking about then check your local BBC store. I think it's a 6 part series. And if it is the same documentary, it's absolutely fantastic.

It was a discovery channel series here a while back, so it's probably available through them too.
For some reason, I'm under the impression they used Maya. But I'm not very solid on that assumption though. Seems like I saw it on a monitor when they were doing one of those 'how it was done' outtakes things.

Your right. Discovery channel it was. Hmm....I remember seeing a scene where the T-Rex is running through the forest and they were showing how they composited it into the live footage. It was either Maya or Softimage. What an awesome program. Even though 3D stuff is my life and I've seen all the Jurassic Park movies, I still couldn't be that it was computer dinosaurs when I first saw it.

Put in a request with Maxon. They have a special form on line for suggestions and things we'd like to see in future versions. Who knows, it could make it into XL at some point.

Sorry, this response was supposed to be in the thread above. Not sure how I put it here. That's why I resubmitted it again, becasue it didn't show up where it was supposed to.
