what is the correct asci code for commercials ?

I have a commercial that is being inserted on a national

station and they have asked me for an asci code on the slate

and tape cover so that the librarian knows it is a commercial.

Is the asci code for commercials TVU--06?

Are you sure they didn't say "agency code?"

An agency code is simply a short (4 or 8 character) spot number. "GBTV-4702" could be Great Barbers TV/ April 7/'02.

Good luck,

Dan

Is this a national spot?

What they are probably asking for is an ISCI code. An ISCI code is essentially a unique number for your spot. ISCI numbers are issued by the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Check with them. If you've created a local spot there's really no need for an ISCI code.
