Can anyone tell me how to overdub in Audition?

We have guitar recorded and we want to add the vocals but can't figure out how to hear the recorded music and record the vocal track at the same time.

Thanks.

First make sure that you have the track you want to listen to dialed into the soundcard you are using for playback ... On the side of each track you will see a button that reads IN or OUT, LEFT CLICK on the OUT button ... This will give you a window listing your playback devices highlight the device you are using if you have more than one device listed ... Also check the SAME FOR ALL TRACKS box , also go to OPTIONS at the very top of the session side left click on it and then go to DEVICE PROPERTIES to make sure that the WAVE OUT is the same as what you have selected for the playback device ... Do this for the IN button as well ... Now after you record your 1St track as you already have done deselect the RED RECORD BUTTON on that track and select the RECORD BUTTON on the next track ... Now when you go to record the second track you should be able the hear the first one as you record the second ... I would also suggest going to the help menu on the top of the screen and taking a look at SETTING UP AUDITION and the next chapter which will explain recording in detail ... If you need further help I check this site daily ... Enjoy this is a great program ....... WILLIE

Thanks for the detailed response. We were able toget it too work by changing the recording device in the device properties but I haven't delved to far into the program so I wasn't aware of the IN & OUT Settings.

Thanks again Willie.
