 | ICE/Boris Red 2.0, "End Of Pipeline" question
by Anonymous on Jul 4, 2001 at 12:54:44 pm |
Using ICED effects with Boris Red 2.0, Mac OS 9.03 and I have a question. Knowing in After Effects as the effects pile up, only the last one's "end of pipeline" is checked. In Boris the effects remain singular (in their own effects window) as they pile up in the comp line. Question is what does Boris recommend? Allow each of the "end pipeline boxes to remained checked, or only the last effect you pile on? Thanks and Happy 4th!

Close the pipeline at the end. Regardless of the application that you're using ICE in (FCP, Effeto Pronto, Commotion, AE, RED, etc.), the card is still looking for you to tell it where to stop looking for more ICE'd effects.....

Yes, Tim Thank you. I don't think I was specific enough, though. In After Effects, all of the effects with controls, stack up in the Effects windows, one over the other. It is only the Bottom of the stack (the last ICED Effect) where I would check, "end of pipeline". The others remain unchecked.
In Boris however, (as you know) the effects windows are their own entities existing each with only one box to check off for "end of pipeline". They don't stack up in the same way in the controls window.
So then do we look at the timeline interface and knowing which was the last ICE effect applied to a specific track, choose that as the only ICE effect to check off, "end of pipeline"? Do the others remain unchecked? Or are you saying unlike AE, we should have "end of Pipeline" checked for each and every ICED effect, even though there may be multiple ICED effects applied to only one track?
Again, I am talking about applying 3 or more ICE effects to one track.
Thank you for your help.
