I made a spline object of a square and am using just the edge as a border for some underlying video. Is there any way to animate the colors on the edge so they travel around the shape. I know I can animate the shape drawn on, but I'm looking to have the colors themselve move.

make multiple copies, change the colors and offste the animation times.
