DVD Player's NEXT remote key not selecting correct clip

I have a project with 3 menus and 3 chapters on each menu. Each of the nine chapter videos are a separate timeline. When i select the "next" key on the remote while watching a chapter, instead of jumping to the next sequential clip, it jumps to some other one. Each chapter's end is linked to the following chapter so they all play in sequesnce. how do i select ordering for the remote's next key.
