Ed HamelConfiguring the 'loop' in an animated button

I've had a heck of a time getting this to work properly. I have a menu, with 4 video buttons, all displaying the proper media. According to a tutorial I watched, I was too set the poster frame, set a duration and render the motion menu. At this point everything works fine. My clips are looping the way I want. Next step; I add audio to the menu. It changes the duration of the menu, so now when I render again (as told in the tutorial) it now plays the video buttons on a 1 minute loop (same length as the music).

I was curious as to what the Loop Point does in all of this. It was to my understanding that was there to disable the buttons until a certain specified time had passed.

I'm so confused from all this I can't think too straight, so I hope this makes sense to somebody out there.

Thanks in advance!!

You need to edit your audio to the desired length of time that you want to loop your thumbnails. If you want your thumbnails to loop for 20 seconds, you must have your audio length 20 seconds. Menu duration takes on the audio length in your case.

Loop point is if have a long motion menu and only want part of it to loop. Lets say you have video clip that leads into your menu, you can have just the menu portion loop when you reach the end of the clip.

Good Luck - Brian

Thanks Brian.

Seems like a bit of a limitation, but definitely something that is workable.... again thanks for your help.

Its a limitation of DVD-Video, not of Encore. Audio and video are part of the same multiplexed VOB stream and can't be played (or looped) independently.
