Menu Buttons

This is not natively supported by the DVD spec, but it is possible. Tedious, but possible.

What you do is start with a menu that has Animate Buttons unchecked, then link each button to a chapter point and set each one to Auto-Activate. Next you duplicate this menu for as many animated buttons as you need, then Edit In Photoshop each duplicate menu and rename the (%) layer of every button except the one you intend to animate to "still" or anything but the Encore tokens. Save and return to Encore, and you should have all these duplicate menus with only one button that has the (%) thumbnail layer.

Then turn on Animate Buttons for each of these duplicate menus, and link each "still" button to the Menu:Button that you want to play when it is selected.

It's a lot of work, but it does work. Note that DVD players will have varying response times linking from button to menu, but nothing really terrible.

Oh, and I forgot...your last step will be to rename all the thumbnail (%) layers of the original menu in Photoshop, save, then come back and link each button to the appropriate menu.
