April 19th Broadcast
by Marc on Apr 9, 2003 at 2:12:15 pm

For anyone with a little time on their hands on Sat april 19th, the show i've been working on for the last 2 months will be airing on NBC at 3pm (est). It's called "The World of American Indian Dance"
I'm using an Avid DS/HD for the editing and about 99% of all fx work. All of the 40+ hrs of footage was shot a yr ago in HD.

If anyone feels like checking itout, please do. Also, our website for more info is www.4d-enter.com

and sorry if this sounds like and add or plug, but hey, it's not everyday i have work broadcast nation wide.

I thought Boxx was bragging about this program being editing on an HDBoxx? Guess that didn't happen. I will definitely be watching - I just got HD cable service at home. Congratulations!

It's the promo of this show that was edited on the HDBOXX...it's mentioned at the BOXX website...I believe this show was shot with the Panasonic Varicam HD camera.

ok, to answer those questions, yes HD Boxx did the promo, there were 4 and 12 minutes promos cuts around a yr ago. however, at the time they were still having problems with the audio & HD system, so it wasn't a viable plan. DS/HD doesn't seem to have that issue, if you have everything set correctly. And as for what it was shot on, yes, panasonic varicam, 2 of them, and two of the older 1080i panasonic cameras.(i forget the model) you can see the adds on panasonics site and also HD boxx's site.
To tell the truth, i'm anxious to see the new cineBOXX adn the new Avid Nitris system..they both seem to have alot of the bells and whistles the currnt versions are missing.

Hey you deserve to plug this!! I'll definately tune in at home and make sure it's on in the retail store I work in. I'll do my best to remember to record in on a D-VHS tape as well. We'll be picking it up via a roof-top antenna from Chicago's NBC. It's about time NBC ran something in HD on Saturday afternoon.
