Wow... you make it sound like we're something like the third world countries around here... Don't worry, you'll find your McDonalds at every highway entering the larger cities. And enough signs to make sure you can't miss it.

Other than the 220 volts there shouldn't be much of a problem. Be aware of flickering lights, since the frequency of European power is 50Hz.

I doubt that European power systems are worse than in California...
