Brian ClaussenKonaSD and Decklink 4.7.1 Problems

Hi

I was wondering if anyone out there has had this problem and knows of a work around. I recently upgraded to the new DeckLink 4.7.1 drivers and am now experiencing problems with the After Effects 6.5 Video Preview. RAM previews run at an average of 15 fps no matter what I try. I have tried clean installs, clearing preferences, turning off OpenGL support, Video output options and no luck. It seems to be a driver issue since the old 4.0b drivers would give me realtime 29.97 output. I would go back to using them but I then have a luma shift problem in Final Cut Pro 4.5 that makes every video I output brighter than it actually is. This makes it impossible to collaborate with others using the same footage without color correcting everything I send out. It also makes making a still frame bringing it into photoshop for clean up and bringing it back into Final Cut impossible because the luma shift is also added into anything brought into Final Cut not natively captured from tape. The new drivers fix this shift and Final Cut works fine but now After Effects doesn't work. I have seen other posts dealing with these issues but no actual solutions. I have tried changing rendering settings, using the Black Magic codec instead of the the Apple Uncompressed codec and have had no luck. If anyone could help point me in the right direction to solve either problem with these drivers it would be a great help.

I am getting extremely frustrated with dealing with these issues. I am a two time loser since I also had a Digital Voodoo card and got the Kona card to replace it when Voodoo decided to discontinue its Mac support. This was about two months before Black Magic decided not to produce drivers for the Kona card anymore. I should have known better since the same designer of the Voodoo card is the same designer of the KonaSD and now the Black Magic cards. I was suprised to see Black Magic is now supporting the Kona again but I doubt they will put out a revision to their drivers to correct any KonaSD users problems. Does anyone know if AJA is ever going to support this product or do I have fork out for the Kona2 or just buy a Black Magic card in order to get my work done?

Thanks for any help,

Brian Claussen
