[Walter] Decklink is not now, nor has it ever been qualified to work with FCP, so as far as I'm concerned, until Apple Qualifies it, you're on your own as far as using it. I can't recommend any product that Apple does not qualify. So a side by side comparison of the two is pretty useless for me.

I think that is a pretty irresponsible post from a forum leader. We all know that Blackmagic makes great quality products. The certification from apple is very political. Apple has joined up with Aja and blackmagic is the their number one competitor. To not even consider or mention their existence is flat out wrong. The fact is Decklink HD Pro is a VERY strong competitor to the kona 2. Anyone that doesnt take a look at it when making their decision to buy a capture board is not making an informed one.

You as a forum leader should take an unbiased position and offer the information on all the products. I recall some sour posts in regards to blackmagic from you so I feel you might have some personal animosity with them. There was quite a flame war when they released Decklink HD and you seemed very upset, pointing out how it was very inferior to your much more expensive CineWave.

Now Im not trying to start another flame war but for the ill informed that might not now about the decklink card I feel it part of your responsibility to consider it as part of the line-up.

As a note, I do not work for blackmagic nor do i own any of their products. I am going to be purchasing a Decklink HD Pro OR a Kona 2 when I get more information on the two.

Regards,
Emery
