I was lucky enough to get a week of hands on with the IO during NAB. it will capture the SDI / Component/ Composite video in as 10 bit , 8 bit and as offline DV or phtojpeg from one of the connected sources (via BNC) on the IO.
It will not however capture DV over a FW connection as it does not have a FW port on it as a number of people have commented on.
Additionally all of the video out ports are live all of the time so that your video
playback in FCP4 is played out to a monitor or tape no matter what your sequence is set to. I was showing DV, 10bit, 8 bit, Offline and a 24fps seq playing out directly from FCP using the IO without having to switch the hardware setting as is needed with the PCI bus cards.
