Re: lo does do RT uncompressed!!!!!

I am at NAB, and the lo IS doing RT with uncompressed video with nothing but a dual processer Mac. They showed me Pic in Pic and motion keyframing, and color correction in RT. Thats right!!!! Blew my mind, i went to AJA booth and asked everyone there if my newly bought KonaSD card is obselete now and they said no, but the only real reason they could give me was the desktop feature if you use AE, or combustion. What kills me is that you get way more RT now without the kona card, like your getting penalized for using the card now as far as RT goes, this is due to the codec that Apple wrote for uncompressed video. I asked a valid question i thought, until one of the Kona guys actually started getting really pissed at me and trying to tell me I didnt understand how these things worked and all I was asking him was if KonaSD were running FCP4 would I get the same or more RT then not using the card, he couldnt answer me and proceded to try and belittle me. Oh well.....
AJA was NOT showing any cards using FCP4 at the show that I saw only the io solution. Seems to me that Apple is really envisioning in the next year or so that you will get all the RT you need from your Mac and not need anything but an io solution to convert the video. I believe Avid was also showing uncompressed SD video with RT effects on nothing but a Dell with no other hardware. This is the future it seems, amazing...
