RT Extreme still doesn't provide any real time for uncompressed footage. As far as I understand it, it is only for DV and Offline JPEG. The Kona card, which still has not reached it's potential by any means, may have a lot to offer for uncompressed RT. I don't think there is any information yet on what type of storage architecture you need to handle uncompressed footage with FCP 4.

I think the big, big news will be when the IBM 970 processors come and the Mac has massive processing power. Then we will see virtually no need for 3rd party cards. Pretty incredible stuff.

I also spoke with ProMax today and they are working on uncompressed over Firewire for the DA-Max+. No date has been set as to when they expect that to be available.
