Yes, I guess with RT Extreme Kona (or anyone else for that matter) no longer has to worry about building RT into a PCI card. They can just concentrate on I/O. However I wonder if they will try and utilise the power that now exists in the processors of these cards to offer even more RT. I think I read somewhere that this is what is going to happen with the cinewave. It would be a shame to have my Kona card simply turned into I/O device, hopefully Apple will write the Uncompressed codecs to utilise the extra processing grunt that is on tap.

FCP3.04 on D1gigG4 & D1.25G4 both with 1gig ram KonaSD, Flyingcows, AJA d->A, A->D converters, Fibre Sanman 960gig Raid3. MacOS 10.2.4 QuickTime6.1.1
