Hi,
Well that's quite a nasty attack from a competitor.
Of course you are completely wrong, and if you don't understand the difference between 23.98 editing, and NTSC telecined at 29.97 fps, which is really 23.98, that we have been using for decades, then that's not really my problem.
I am trying to understand what would make a competitor jump onto our forum with a post filled with so much hate. I guess it's hard to sell a composite video card for a thousand dollars when we offer uncompressed 10 bit SDI video with real time effects, and all kinds of features for the same price.
I have tried and tried again to speak to you guys privately about the hostile way you stir up your customers to attack us on forums. Only recently yourself you bashed our 23.98 fps feature the moment we announced it without mentioning the company you were from in the post.
Why do you keep doing this, and why do you try and stir people up to make it look like we are trying to trick people? I cannot believe this post, and I have never seen such pure hate in a post before.
I tried and tried to explain Paul what I was talking about, and what I meant, however he just kept demanding that I answer his question, without even considering what I was saying. Even when I tried and explain in greater detail, I am labeled as being condescending.
That was not a debate, but someone trying to prove we are lying or some other kind of political post. I kept trying but to no avail. Why would a user act that way?
I spend a lot of time on the forums to help people and because I am here to be responsible for the products we make, and the decisions that shape them. At the same time, I do expect a little respect for my explanations on why we do things.
I used to think you guys at Aurora were really nice guys, however I cannot believe the hate you guys spread, and it's really shown another side to your company.
However there is a bright side. You have really motivated engineering here much better than I ever could. You will see the results of that soon, I am sure.
Regards,
Grant Petty
