Grant,
This is an extremely arrogant attitude to take that the workflow a user requires is wrong, and they should change their ways to fit yours. Manufacturers need to listen to their customers and provide tools that meet their needs, not the other way around.

I was recently at the FCPUG meeting at MacWorld and there was a presentation on the workflow on Malter Murch's, Cold Mountain production that is being edited on FCP right now. If I remember correctly each of the daily film reels was telecined to BetaSP without audio, as the audio was recorded direct to disk, and just layed into the FCP timeline. So how would this workflow work at 23.976?

I am in no way an expert with this part of the business, but find it extremely hard to believe Walter Murch is "decades behind" where you are Grant. Again, we just need tools that fit our workflows, not commentary on how we are doing things wrong. Sorry to be so bold, but this just struck a nerve.

Paul
