Hi,

This is a Final Cut Pro bug, and we have reported it to Apple.

We have a work around we are going to release soon, and we know exactly what's crashing Final Cut Pro. It's related to drawing on the Mac screen, and we have worked out a way to detect when Final Cut Pro has screwed up, and is going to crash if we update the Mac screen, so we don't update the screen.

This has the side effect that the Mac screen does not update, and you get white, however I think it's better that an application crash. This is also a random bug, and we don't always see it. We had it on a system here, however it's been gone for a week, even though we have not touched the software on the system. It's a weird bug.

So hopefully Apple fix it soon, and our work around covers until then. Please email me if you seen this problem, and we can email you the software link on Monday. It's not the best solution, but better than sitting around waiting for Apple to fix it. We can release software much faster than Apple can, so we try and change things is there is a chance we can work around a bug. This just solves the problem, which ultimately is what everyone wants.

Regards,

Grant
