Just back from a Media100 844X demo and I'm still trembling. With that thing you can have 3 RT bugs moving around (over layer 1) + individually color corrected all in glorious 10bit. The RT DVE quality is better than any other machine I have ever seen in any price range, rendered or RT. If the price is too steep you can get one bug (still moving around and color corrected) for half the price on the just released Xi. I hope Marco will stay away from testing the codec. It rocks so hard everyone should be nervous and it has alpha. Personally I would never spend a dime on a PC so it's not going to make me give up FCP and all the really nice uncompressed cards you can use with it. But I do hope that Media 100 makes a big dent in Avid. Sorry for beeing a bit off topic.
