The hardware itself has an order it expects things to be done in that the software can't reorder, so to reorder these things means you have to do multiple passes.

This is where the beauty of the ASIC chips comes into play on these boards. The programming can be changed on chip to change or add additional features. It isn't permanently etched in silicon.


I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. ASICs are permanently etched silicon. They cannot be reprogrammed, not in the field, not anywhere else. Anyone who told you otherwise was either lying or misinformed. See:
