844XE X blurred
3.2Tb Video Drive -Raid 5 (2.5 usable)
1Tb Lacie Backup FireWire Drive
Genarts Sapphire Plugins

I Like Hard Drive Space.
We've still got 30 hours left of 10bit uncompressed.
I love it. OOH yes I love it.

As for Edit Comparisons?
What can you say other than I hope the good folks at M100 grab an old edit, and develop the 844's basic functionality. I NEVER used to use the Source/Record viewers to edit. Now I find I have to. Unless there's a better way to do things, this seems to take up a lot of time. Don't get me wrong, I think the 844's a wonderful beast. It's already impressed the right clients. With recent developments at M100, I firmly believe that it'll get a whole lot better. Which is ultimately why we bought a relatively new product.

But, imagine a finishing tool with the bliss of Edit, with a whole lot of real time grunt. We would also use the Final Effects Plugins a lot more, but they're just too darn slow.

BTW: have a look at http://www.844user.com
It's only early days yet, but could end up being a wonderful thing.

Cheers,

Andrew
