Thanks for the explanation of the audio quality setting. That was never fully explained to me.

My audio is being sent to a separate audio ATA-100 drive that runs at 7200 RPM with 8MB buffer. That should be sufficient for what I am doing because this drive is only used for audio. My audio is generally 1 or 2 narrative sound tracks with occasional SFX added, along with single track music. Pretty simple. I make sure that all of the imported audio is 48K so there is no 44.1K to 48K realtime conversion taking place.
