Random Audio Drop Outs

I've been experiencing random audio drop outs on playback. They don't happen often, but when it does, it's pretty irritating. The drop out only lasts 1 to 2 seconds, then everything seems OK (no audio sync problems that I can detect).

I've got the CineWave RT. The last time the drop out happened, I had rendered all of the RT effects and mixed down the audio.

I've got a Dual 1.25GHZ MAC and I'm using OSX 10.2.4, the latest QT (6.1), 2 Medea RTR 5/460 drives with the latest Medea driver (x149). I've split my audio and capture it to a separate audio-only drive (120GB ATA-100 with 8MB buffer).

Any thoughts?
